Full-time, Negotiable salary.

Opportunity

Direct and coordinate activities of cheese production areas, processing raw materials and manufacturing customer‑specific products. Work primarily on the night shift (6 pm–6 am, rotating schedule).

• Oversee total operation of the shift and ensure adherence to the production schedule.
• Lead daily crew meetings focusing on safety, quality, and production.
• Oversee chemical checks and maintain accurate computer records.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and all applicable food‑safety regulations (FSMA, SQF, FDA, PMO).
• Operate and troubleshoot machinery.
• Create KPI reports and address quality issues.
• Track and improve employee training, hiring, morale, and development.
• Supervise hourly employees in milk intake and cheese positions, including training, scheduling, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
• Apply GPS processes to drive zero losses and uphold the culture of Southwest Cheese non‑negotiables.

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills, including report and procedure manual preparation.
• Proficiency with computers, including email, record‑keeping, database functions, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics software.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM.
• Knowledge of food‑safety regulations and the ability to interpret technical and written instructions.
• Effective presentation and customer‑service skills.
• Strong leadership and delegation abilities.

• Lift and carry items up to 50 lb.
• Manual dexterity for handling and processing items.
• Ability to perform moderate physical activity and operate machinery with visual acuity and color discrimination.
