Overview

Counter Sales Representative (Open) – Hobbs, NM

Responsibilities
  • Sells products to walk-in customers at branch locations.
  • Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer needs, and emphasizes selling points of articles such as quality and reliability. Assists in preparing merchandise for display and for sale.
  • Answers customers’ questions concerning prices and uses of merchandise. Takes phone and fax orders and verifies input into system. Ensures proper pricing.
  • Communicates with supervisor and outside sales representatives on customer orders, requirements, problems & concerns, and changes.
  • Initiates Quick P.O. for sold orders. Initiates product transfers to other branches or direct to customers.
  • Performs pre-calls to customers as required by supervisor.
  • Operates cash register and associated computer hardware and software.
  • Works safely and complies with all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by state, federal, and company requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years related product and/or sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds and move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with entering data into a computer. SAP experience preferred
