As a Territory Manager at Halter you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, meet ambitious growth targets, and act as Halter’s on‑ground representative.
Responsibilities- Prospecting New Business – drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with livestock associations, build pipeline through outbound lead generation, and field inbound leads in a timely manner.
- In‑Field Sales – engage customers on the ranch, discuss Halter’s benefits while on horseback or a side‑by‑side, demonstrate value over coffee, and support potential customers in calving season.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities – identify and pursue opportunities to expand services to current customers, including collaring cattle when appropriate.
- Hitting Sales Targets – manage the pipeline, qualify leads, and close deals to meet and exceed high‑growth sales targets.
- Customer Account Management – maintain close relationships after the sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges with Halter’s products.
- Territory Ownership – own the entire territory, visit high‑level stakeholders, local, state, and federal agencies, and build lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.
- Customer Onboarding – manage end‑to‑end onboarding and deployment of Halter’s product to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
- Field Learnings & Feedback – serve as the primary point of contact for gathering customer feedback and advocate for customer needs.
- Collaborating with Support Teams – partner with internal teams to resolve issues, escalates problems swiftly, and ensures customers feel fully supported.
- Attending Industry Events – participate in demonstrations, network at relevant events, and generate leads while deepening existing relationships.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy – collaborate with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market and drive greater efficiencies.
- Driven Attitude & Communication Skills – results‑driven, proactive, and skilled at communicating with customers and internal teams.
- Ranching / Cattle Experience – understanding of ranching or cattle operations and the unique challenges of the industry.
- Sales & Customer Success Expertise – strong history of creating new business opportunities, negotiating value‑based sales, and building lasting customer relationships.
- Territory Management Experience – managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
- Problem‑Solving & Collaboration Ability – resourceful, quick‑thinking, and able to work with cross‑functional teams to address challenges and drive solutions.
- Willingness to Travel – frequent travel within the territory to engage customers and prospects.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies. Background in customer‑facing roles within ag‑tech.
- Experience selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
- Annual USD $750 personal development budget.
