The Role

The Environmental Technician supports oil & gas, construction, and remediation projects through hands‑on environmental fieldwork. This role assists with site decommissioning, sampling, compliance activities, and environmental monitoring while working closely with project teams to ensure safe and effective execution.

This position is ideal for early‑career professionals who enjoy outdoor work, technical data collection, and contributing to environmental restoration efforts.

What You’ll Be Doing
Field Sampling & Environmental Support
  • Conduct air, groundwater, and soil sampling
  • Operate and maintain field monitoring and sampling equipment
  • Collect and organize environmental data to support remediation strategies
  • Assist with asbestos surveys, abatement activities, and waste management
  • Support environmental assessments and reporting
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety regulations, SOPs, and environmental guidelines
  • Use required PPE and work safely on active job sites
  • Communicate field observations or issues to project leadership
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain clear, accurate field notes and documentation
  • Assist with preparation of reports and environmental deliverables
What You Bring
Required
  • 0–3+ years of experience in environmental testing, fieldwork, lab analysis, or related experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work safely on active construction or remediation sites
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions year‑round
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
  • Experience in environmental remediation, oil & gas, or construction
  • Familiarity with blueprints and environmental compliance protocols
  • Environmental remediation experience
Work Environment
Field Conditions
  • Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, and rain
  • Travel to job sites within approximately a two‑hour radius
  • Active construction and remediation environments
  • Use of PPE and safety equipment
Schedule
  • Full‑time, Monday – Friday
  • Overtime opportunities based on project needs

Qualifications
Required Education

Relevant technical diploma or university degree (optional) with 0–1 years of direct work experience in an environmental‑focused industry.

Preferred Education

Additional field certifications or training in environmental sampling and health & safety.

Required Experience
  • Experience in environmental fieldwork, including equipment operation and monitoring practices.
  • Experience in operating field and monitoring equipment effectively.
  • Experience in performing well development and related field tasks.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to exercise judgment in selecting and interpreting information.
  • Effective decision‑making abilities to handle deviations from standards and resolve difficulties.
