As a Technician II at Penske, you are a respected technician. You are trusted to work independently while performing major and minor repairs, conducting road tests to diagnose issues, and completing maintenance tasks. You set an example and informally mentor new technicians while continuing to grow your skills through learning from experienced colleagues and your manager.

Main Responsibilities- Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
- Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment independently and in a timely manner
- Repair and troubleshoot components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Keep the work area clean and safe
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

- Advanced vehicle maintenance technology
- Location and schedule flexibility
- 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
- Experienced using trade tools (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Problem‑solving ability

- Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Compliance with company instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and safety policies (DOT, OSHA)
- Regular, predictable, full attendance essential
- Compliance with DOT driver qualification requirements, including current driver qualification file, MVR checks, DOT physical, and safety performance history; CDL holders subject to FMCSA drug screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA clearinghouse review
- Willingness to travel within the district, work required schedule, submit to background checks, and pass a drug screening
- Perform frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
- Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, or operate required tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work safely in all weather conditions
- Navigate the workplace safely, requiring vision and hearing in an environment with large trucks moving frequently
- Lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally; push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs as needed
