The Journeyman role at Noralta Technologies Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Hobbs, NM. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, and control systems associated with energy industry assets and the nTerface platform. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics, performing calibration and testing of equipment, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently according to company and regulatory standards.
The Journeyman will collaborate with engineering and operations teams, document work performed, and support commissioning and upgrades of field installations. This position also involves responding to service calls, performing routine inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement of field practices and procedures.
- Candidates should possess strong technical skills in electrical or instrumentation work, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with remote monitoring systems, PLCs, SCADA or automation equipment, and the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of safety standards and regulations in the energy industry, including safe work practices and adherence to company policies.
- Candidates should possess effective problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills to identify system issues and implement practical solutions in the field.
- Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Journeyman certification (lisensed) or equivalent trade qualification in electrical, instrumentation, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Previous experience in energy, oil and gas, or industrial environments is beneficial, along with comfort working on-site and in field conditions.
- A valid driver’s license, ability to meet any site access requirements, and willingness to participate in ongoing technical training are advantageous.
