Responsibilities- Service – Gathers items or materials requested by customers for issue or assembles Bills of Materials (BOM) required for specific projects. Packages orders, shipments, or BOMs to protect materials from damage during transit. Ships materials to vendors, repair facilities, or customers. Delivers customer orders or materials to various departments and locations. May also test equipment for proper function and schedule repairs of damaged or broken or defective equipment, including coordination of repair to include CPE, head‑end, hardline equipment and warranty items.
- Inventory – Safeguards and tracks inventory items to ensure accurate accountability. Identifies and sorts materials, marks and labels inventory items prior to storing or distribution. Stores or puts inventory items away in assigned storage locations. May ensure that all new CPE equipment is loaded correctly into SAP, IUTA, and other tracking databases within 48 hours of receipt, unpacking and labeling and repacking before adding to inventory.
Maintains inventory including purchasing, receiving, stocking and tracks regulated and non‑regulated equipment and materials. Conducts cycle and inventory counts as directed. - Receiving – Takes possession of products or materials to place them into inventory or distribute them for immediate use. Unloads inbound shipments from delivery trucks, inspects shipments for visible damage, conducts material counts and coordinates with packing slips, and documents item number, description, quantity and any damage to shipment. Reports findings to management.
- Operate and Maintain Equipment – Operates and maintains department equipment to ensure operational readiness. Operates forklifts, hand trucks, cartons, weighing materials, stenciling equipment, barcode scanners and computers. Performs operator inspections and maintenance as required by equipment manuals and company policies. Assigns or issues Customer Premise Equipment and works with technicians, coordinators, contractors on local recoveries.
- Record Keeping – Maintains records, documentation and files critical to business and financial operations. Files, archives, or retrieves records as required for audits, financial reporting or other business operations, disposing of files or records in compliance with company policies. Works with Finance to maintain accurate inventory levels and arranges disposal or recycling of equipment as needed.
- Safety & Security – Performs all actions in compliance with all organizational safety, housekeeping and security policies (Federal OSHA, DOT, and Company Safety policies and regulations).
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months experience in any combination of customer service, warehousing or distribution center operations - or - Technical certification (or higher) - or - current military service, or prior military service with honorable discharge.
- Meet TDS attendance guidelines to support business needs and customers.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation.
- Meet all DOT requirements to drive a vehicle with a combined GVRW of >10,000 lbs. as required by ODOT and TDS.
- Possess or can gain a Forklift Certification.
- 1+ years’ experience operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet lifters, and rigging equipment) preferred.
- 1+ years of experience using a warehousing, inventory, ERP management system (Great Plains, SAP, Navision, MRP or similar).
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience towing trailers.
- Experienced at performing regular warehouse stocking, counting, picking and sorting.
