Overview

Location:

Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Hoboken, McLean, New York

Our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team is growing. As a Manager in our Transactions group, you will play a critical role in shaping and sustaining momentum across a broad range of industries. You will develop and communicate innovative, strategic solutions both internally and with clients, focusing on delivering tailored insights and an exceptional client experience.

This role requires a strong focus on listening to and understanding our clients’ unique challenges, enabling you to deliver insights in an environment where there are no “off-the-shelf” solutions. You will advise companies on complex financial reporting and accounting matters, including—but not limited to—revenue recognition; share-based payments; financial asset transfers and securitizations; consolidation; leases; and mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. You will develop a deep understanding of key complex accounting areas and use that knowledge to think on your feet and challenge existing practices to help clients develop answers to complex issues. You will collaborate with colleagues within FAAS and across multiple service lines, building relationships and identifying opportunities to bring insights across all disciplines beyond accounting.

Regular travel may be required as you meet with key clients, some of whom are highly respected in their fields.

  • Consulting with clients on complex and technical accounting issues
  • Collaborating with partners, senior managers and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations
  • Ensuring the Engagement team thoroughly understands clients’ needs, ambitions and expectations
  • Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless, integrated service
  • Managing performance and identifying opportunities to improve our products and processes
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree, CPA certification and 2 to 5 years of work experience, preferably as an auditor in a public accounting firm
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • A thorough understanding of US GAAP
  • Exposure or interest in revenue recognition, share-based payments, financial asset transfers such as securitizations and factoring agreements, consolidations and equity method accounting
  • Exposure to strategic transactions, such as business combinations, M&As and joint ventures
  • Understanding of the financial services industry and commonly used terminology, processes and tools
  • A proven record of excellence in managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
  • The confidence to research and resolve emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
What We Look For

We’re interested in versatile people who can take on new responsibilities and listen to clients to help them meet their goals. We’re not just looking for technical accounting experience—we’re after genuinely interesting people who can build relationships, negotiate, present and think creatively. If you’re a confident leader with a curious mind and the ability to solve complex issues, this role is for you.
