Overview

Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Career Center Coordinator actively supports a student-centered career center that serves an undergraduate and graduate population pursuing degrees in engineering, the sciences, business and management, the humanities, and the fine arts. The Coordinator represents the Center to students, employers, and the Stevens community, maintaining professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Associate Director and Career Center Operations in executing all career center operations and initiatives.
  • Assist in execution of all Career Center events in collaboration with the assigned event lead, including reserving space, preparing budgets, creating room layouts, assigning roles, ordering food and supplies, requesting marketing, and utilizing the Coursedog room reservation system.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of the Career Center focusing on excellence and customer service; maintain equipment and surroundings of the student waiting area and employer interview offices.
  • Provide administrative support for front‑desk operations, schedule meetings, manage calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, process invoices and credit-card expenses, and create various reports.
  • Hire, train, and supervise up to 10+ Student Assistants; provide developmental feedback and ensure they understand front‑desk operations, student/employer check‑ins, phone etiquette, and overall center operations.
  • Answer the Career Center main phone line, take complete and accurate messages, and forward messages to appropriate staff.
  • Successfully complete projects assigned by career center management and perform other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least one year of work experience, including internships.
  • A self‑starter who demonstrates ability to achieve goals, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with high attention to detail.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced proficiency using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or MS Teams.
  • Excellent organizational, written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends to attend university or career center events.
Compensation

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $41,400.00 – $55,200.00
. The final salary will be based on departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.
