Assistant Designer
- Juniors Apparel
Our client, a wholesale manufacturing apparel company is seeking an Assistant Designer
- Juniors Apparel to join their team in NYC!
- Design and develop apparel collections from initial concept through production.
- Create sketches, CADs, and technical packages.
- Collaborate with merchandising and cross-functional teams.
- Research market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products.
- Partner with technical design and production teams.
- Communicate with vendors and manufacturing partners.
- Assist with sourcing fabrics, trims, and materials appropriate for each collection.
- Manage development timelines and ensure key project milestones are met.
Experience:
- 1-3 years experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience creating technical packages and working with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and fit.
- Ability to identify trends and translate them into commercially relevant products.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendor partners.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to design.
