Role Summary

The Early Childhood Music & Movement Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year plays a key role in supporting young children’s development through music, movement, and creative expression. This role leads engaging, developmentally appropriate sessions that build rhythm, coordination, body awareness, and confidence, while fostering a joy for movement and music.

The Music & Movement program supports children’s overall development and connects, when appropriate, to classroom learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading engaging, developmentally appropriate Music & Movement sessions for PK2, PK3, and PK4 students
  • Designing experiences that support rhythm, coordination, spatial awareness, and gross motor development
  • Creating a joyful, inclusive environment that encourages participation, expression, and confidence
  • Modeling movement, musicality, and expressive language throughout sessions
  • Collaborating with Music, PSPE, and classroom teachers to ensure alignment with broader learning goals
  • Observing and documenting children’s participation and development to inform planning
  • Maintaining an organized, safe, and engaging learning space
  • Participating in meetings and contributing to the broader school community
  • Upholding school routines, expectations, and values

Qualifications

Required:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Experience working with young children (ages 2–5 preferred)
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, particularly in movement, coordination, and creative expression
  • Ability to design and lead engaging, age-appropriate group experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Music, Movement, Physical Education, or a related field
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred:

  • Experience in early childhood music, dance, or movement programs
  • Experience working in international or bilingual school settings
