The Hudson School seeks a dynamic Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
ResponsibilitiesPE teachers are responsible for the development, implementation, and progression of The Hudson School's physical education curriculum. A THS PE teacher works with grades 5-12 under the supervision of the Athletic Director and Middle and Upper School Division Heads.
- Planning and delivering lessons on physical fitness, games, and sports
- Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups
- Creating a learning environment that is inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their ability level or background
- Ensuring all activities are safe and suitable for the age and ability of students
- Assessing students' progress, then communicating with parents and guardians
- Promoting teamwork, leadership, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through physical activities
- CPR/First Aid Training
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field
- Experience with students ages 10-14 required
- Be able to work indoors and outdoors
- Upon employment, be able to pass a criminal background check
This is a part-time position that pays $55 per 40-minute class period. Middle School PE classes are two forty-minute periods back-to-back. This position may cover between 5-8 class periods per week.
