This opportunity would include the following requirements and qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong performance and instructional experience on both violin and cello and be able to guide students from the beginning stages of instrumental study through intermediate and advanced ensemble participation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction through both small-group lessons and large ensemble rehearsals, while fostering students' musical growth, confidence, and appreciation for the performing arts.

- Pizzicato (plucking) and arco (bowing) performance
- Tone production and articulation
- Reading standard music notation

- Music literacy, expression, and musicianship
Additionally, candidates with experience in choral music, vocal ensembles, musical direction, accompanying, or related performing arts disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience directing school musical productions, coordinating pit orchestras, preparing student performers for public performances, or collaborating across performing arts programs is considered a plus.
Requirements- NJ Teaching Certificate for Music (Limited CE, CE, CEAS, Provisional or Standard);
Endorsment 2100 - Criminal history background check
- Proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Coordinate classroom tasks as outlined by the building principal
- Work to achieve the New Jersey Learning Standards and district educational goals and objectives by promoting active learning in the classroom using board-adopted curriculum and other appropriate learning activities
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Set specific objectives whenever possible in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans; and carry through presentation to effectively achieve these objectives
- Monitor students' academic progress and personal growth toward stated objectives of instruction and behavioral improvement plans. Effectively communicate standards and progress with parents regularly
- Maintain productive relationships with parents and other staff members
- Maintain records of students' educational and behavioral progress in the On Course system and summarize as appropriate
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a classroom climate conducive to learning
- Plan class activities and lesson presentations that are age-appropriate for the class and meet the individual needs, interests and ability levels of all students
- Maintain professional competence and pursue continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities
- Participate in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees, and other school system groups
- Make effective use of community engagement
