HHS College and Career Consultant (Job ) – Districtwide Teaching and Support, located in the district, is available from 09/01/2026.
Position OverviewThe College and Career Consultant will work collaboratively with the school counseling department, administration, students, and families to provide guidance and support related to post-secondary planning, college admissions, career exploration, financial aid, scholarships, and workforce readiness.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized college and career advising to students and families.
- Assist students with college searches, applications, essays, and admissions processes.
- Support students in exploring career pathways, apprenticeships, military options, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Conduct workshops and informational sessions related to college admissions, financial aid, FAFSA, scholarships, and career readiness.
- Collaborate with school counselors to monitor student progress toward post-secondary goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools, employers, and community organizations.
- Coordinate and participate in four evening events during the school year (one per marking period) focused on college and career planning.
- Maintain records and provide periodic updates to administration regarding program activities and outcomes.
- Perform other duties related to college and career readiness as assigned by the Principal.
- Valid New Jersey School Counselor Certificate required.
- Experience in college admissions, school counseling, career counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of college admissions processes, financial aid programs, scholarship opportunities, and career development resources.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Stipend: $12,000
- Schedule: 5 hours per week
- Term: September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027
- Includes creation, attendance and facilitation of four evening events during the school year (one per marking period).
