Job Description

Stevens Institute of Technology seeks three innovative and organized Hall Directors for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Pre‑College Programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and engaging on‑campus living experience for 700 high‑school students attending the Pre‑College Program.
  • Oversee approximately 30 student staff members and supervise all student staff, including evening and overnight supervision.
  • Manage the summer email account and answer phone calls and inquiries while in the office.
  • Uphold the highest level of customer service when working with participants, families, staff, and faculty.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all pre‑college staff and effectively communicate with student staff.
  • Manage on‑call duty rotation with two fellow Hall Directors and coordinate scheduling.
  • Develop and implement campus activities, social programming, and engaging evening campus events.
  • Facilitate the check‑in/check‑out process, manage roommate pairing, and coordinate student arrivals via plane.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for student staff in cases of emergency.
  • Attend weekly meetings with fellow Hall Directors, pro‑staff, and all‑staff.
  • Supervise and chaperone off‑campus trips and activities, and assist with pick‑up and logistics for partner students.
  • Train student staff and help with training for all student staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
  • 1–2+ years of experience within Pre‑College, Residence Life, or a related field.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must live on campus for the duration of employment.
  • Must not have any additional jobs or classes during the length of employment.
  • Will participate in an on‑call duty rotation with two fellow Hall Directors.
Work Schedule

Seasonal position from June to July.

Compensation

Semi‑monthly base range: $8,000 – $8,500.
