Job Description
Stevens Institute of Technology is inviting applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Writing and Communications.
Responsibilities- Teach HASS 103 Writing and Communications Colloquium, exposing students to academic discourse, rhetorical strategies, textual analysis, research skills, and public speaking.
- Adhere to the syllabus designed by the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) and follow the HASS faculty handbook policies.
- Attend all class sessions and hold requisite office hours.
- Grade assignments and provide timely feedback to students.
- Complete all assessment and reporting requirements.
- Meet with HASS first‑year faculty several times during the semester to review course progress and receive updates.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching writing to first‑year students.
- Master’s degree or higher (including ABD) in a humanities field with a demonstrated interest in first‑year writing.

Compensation- Standard: $5,425
- 4‑hour Studio: $5,700
- Discussion Section Leaders: $1,350
