Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for Part-Time Adjunct Instructor positions in Chemistry and Biology for the Fall 2026 semester. Reporting to the Academic Department Chair the Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting the academic mission of the University. Opportunities are available to teach introductory undergraduate chemistry courses as well as graduate-level chemistry or biology courses in support of Stevens' master's and doctoral programs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage course syllabus materials.
  • Coordinate course content and curriculum with the Academic Department Chair.
  • Deliver instruction for assigned courses.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Perform other related instructional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related field.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the applicable discipline.
Department Chemistry Administration Compensation Range

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the base salary range for this position is listed below. This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations.

The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials.

  • Minimum: $8,600
  • Maximum: $8,600
  • Rate for less than 8 students: $1,120/student
