About the RoleAs Vice President, Program Management, you will enable Wiley’s AI & Data Analytics Business Unit (AI&DA) to move at market speed by improving visibility, strengthening decision‑making, and maintaining delivery discipline without adding unnecessary governance. You will report to the Chief AI & Data Analytics Officer, operate across all areas of the business, and drive program excellence in a fast‑moving, technology‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a small, focused team of program and project managers.
- Own a single cross‑functional delivery roadmap (Product, Engineering, Data Science, Commercial, Shared Services) with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and status.
- Translate commercial commitments into functional dependencies; align dependency owners and drive resolution of cross‑functional dependencies.
- Own and operate a live, prioritized risk register (delivery, capacity, dependency, commercial‑commitment) that escalates risk and decisions needed.
- Identify and track commercial‑to‑functional dependencies to enable faster and more reliable customer commitment timelines.
- Set delivery standards and cadence consistent with Wiley’s Delivery and Change Excellence practice, working with Business Operations to align financial and operational planning and reporting cycles.
- Engage and align senior stakeholders across functions without direct authority.
- 8+ years of program management experience, with at least 4 years managing cross‑functional delivery in a complex, fast‑moving technology or data organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in cross‑functional dependency management and commercial/delivery risk identification.
- Proven ability to influence accountability and delivery discipline through credibility and high‑quality visibility.
- Demonstrated ability to distinguish severity of business impact from delivery risk and to escalates appropriately to senior leadership.
- Understanding of the dependency structure of a cloud‑native data platform, an AI/ML pipeline, and SaaS products.
- Demonstrated ability to connect delivery milestones to customer outcomes and quantify commercial impact when dates or scope change.
- Comfortable bringing structure to evolving interdependencies and rebuilding structure as priorities shift.
- Integrated Delivery Roadmap operational and used within 45 days; major milestones with definitions of done within 60 days.
- Material cross‑functional dependencies captured with owners and dates within 45 days and kept current.
- Delivery health and risk review cadence established within 30 days, sustaining decisions throughout the year.
- Joint tracker continuously current and trusted by Product, Technology, Shared Service, and Business leaders.
- Standing forums run within 45 days with clear purpose and documented outputs, improving decision and issue‑resolution speed over the year.
