Position Overview

As a Baker at O’Bagel, you will be responsible for executing the full bagel production process from dough handling and proofing to boiling and baking.

Key Responsibilities Production Execution
  • Properly proof, boil, and bake bagels using commercial kettles and ovens.
  • Follow standardized recipes and baking procedures.
  • Adhere to precise baking schedules and batch timing.
  • Monitor product quality including size, texture, color, and consistency.
  • Adjust processes as needed while maintaining standards.
Quality & Consistency
  • Ensure every batch meets O’Bagel’s quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate portioning and shaping standards.
  • Protect brand consistency through disciplined execution.
  • Communicate production issues proactively.
Safety & Cleanliness
  • Operate all equipment safely and according to food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking environment.
  • Complete cleaning, sanitation, and restocking responsibilities.
  • Follow all health and food safety guidelines.
Operational Support
  • Ensure daily production meets volume targets.
  • Support inventory awareness and ingredient management.
  • Assist with opening procedures and preparation for service.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and leadership team.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and process consistency.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts reliably.
  • Physical stamina for repetitive production tasks.
  • Comfortable working in warm kitchen environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Previous baking or food production experience preferred.
  • Serv Safe or Food Handler certification.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Early morning start times required.
  • Full weekend availability required.
  • $18-21/hr (based on experience), tips included in wage
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise levels
