the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and creative Senior Manager, Social Strategy to shape how Walmart Connect shows up on social — starting with Linked In, our primary storytelling channel. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy, content approach, and performance measurement for Linked In while building the roadmap for Walmart Connect’s future social presence. You’ll balance creativity and strategy — crafting punchy, scroll‑stopping content that elevates our voice in retail media, while establishing scalable processes, analytics, and advocacy programs.

You’ll work cross‑functionally with Comms, Creative, Events, Product Marketing, Sales, and more to ensure social becomes a powerful channel for storytelling, visibility, and engagement. This role reports to the Director, Brand & Content Strategy.

Social Strategy & Governance
  • Lead the Linked In channel strategy, overseeing content planning, publishing cadence, tone, and community engagement.
  • Create and manage a formalized intake process for internal stakeholders (Growth Marketing, Events, Sales, Comms, Product Marketing, etc.) to submit requests, ensuring priorities are clear and timelines are met.
  • Develop and maintain a social calendar informed by the broader Marketing calendar, key events, and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Balance reactive moments with proactive, social‑first storytelling, including recurring series, behind‑the‑scenes looks, and data‑driven insights.
Content Creation & Amplification
  • Translate long‑form content (e.g., event recaps, announcements, research) into short, engaging, and shareable posts designed for Linked In audiences.
  • Partner with design and video teams to bring content to life — visual and video skills are a plus.
  • Develop and execute 360° social strategies for Tier 1 events — driving cohesive pre‑, during‑, and post‑event storytelling across owned, earned, and partner channels — and codify best practices into a scalable social media playbook for future activations.
  • Drive a holistic amplification approach across owned content, internal executive advocacy, and external partner or client amplification, ensuring every event moment is extended and reinforced across audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and agency teams to ensure content aligns with Walmart Connect’s voice, tone, and visual identity.
Collaboration & Alignment
  • Partner across Sales, Product Marketing, Comms, Events, and other Walmart Connect teams to distill complex initiatives into social‑first, compelling messaging and visuals that resonate with our audiences.
  • Work closely with the Creative, Growth Marketing, and Brand & Content Strategy teams to set a clear social design and messaging vision, ensuring all assets are optimized for Linked In, integrated with paid amplification strategies, and consistently reflect Walmart Connect’s brand identity and tone.
  • Build a strong, ongoing partnership with the Enterprise Social Team to maintain open communication, share insights, and identify opportunities to align on key campaigns and storytelling moments that reinforce a unified One Walmart presence.
  • Act as a connector across teams, driving alignment, visibility, and momentum for Walmart Connect’s social presence.
Advocacy & Amplification Programs
  • Build and manage an advocacy strategy that empowers Walmart Connect’s partners, advertisers, and team members to champion our story.
  • Develop toolkits, messaging, and campaigns that encourage partner amplification and create a consistent brand voice through the ecosystem.
