Protecnium is an international firm specializing in engineering and technical services (). We are currently looking for a Tunnel Quality Manager to join our team for a major railway tunnel infrastructure project in Hoboken, New Jersey, USA (on-site position).

  • Project: Major Railway Tunnel and Underground Infrastructure Works.
  • Estimated duration of the position: 1 year.
  • In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
Summary

The Tunnel Quality Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Project Quality Management Plan for a major railway tunnel infrastructure project.

The role will oversee all QA/QC activities associated with TBM excavation, precast segmental lining, waterproofing, grouting, cross passages, shafts, and associated civil works, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Lead and oversee QA/QC activities throughout tunnelling and associated civil works.
  • Ensure quality compliance during TBM excavation activities.
  • Oversee quality requirements for precast segmental lining, waterproofing, and grouting works.
  • Manage quality control activities associated with cross passages, shafts, and other underground works.
  • Supervise inspections and testing activities.
  • Manage quality documentation, records, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Conduct quality audits and monitor compliance with project requirements.
  • Implement and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with the client, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction teams.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 10 hours per day, including a 1-hour lunch break.
