PositionDescription
QCi is seeking a quality control engineer to work with its quantum machines manufacturing team. The Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) develops and maintains quality control plans to ensure the products meet required internal or external specifications. This includes defining inspection criteria, performing audits and evaluating production quality. Assist, as directed in meeting department goals and objectives as established by Management. This position will be responsible for supporting different teams such as Optical, Mechanical, Electrical in development of system architecture from NPI to production.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Drive QMS development of quality ISO SOPs from incoming to order fulfillment.
- Champion quality implementation in support of NPI development
- Identify process inefficiencies by performing process audits and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the company operations comply with the international standards i.e. ISO
9001 industry regulations and customer specific requirements. This includes performing internal audits, participating in certification processes and managing the sites nonconforming product and corrective/preventative actions systems. - Ongoing Quality Monitoring
- Risk & Reliability Management
- Analyze internal performance metrics (PPM, OTD, escapes, COPQ).
- Support containment and root cause investigations related to:
- Alignment or tolerance stack-up issues
- Cleanliness / contamination concerns
- Assess process risks related to:
- Precision alignment
- Participate in reliability testing and environmental validation reviews.
- Reviews and approvals change management process for product and suppliers
- Support Lean, Six Sigma, and process capability improvement (Cp/Cpk).
- Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising optical performance or reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Optical, Electrical, Materials, or related discipline).
- 3–5 years of experience in Quality or Supplier Engineering.
- Experience in photonics, optics, laser systems, or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of the entire Product Development Lifecycle starting from Concept to Launch of Product in the market.
- Proficiency in quality management systems, statistical analysis, root cause analysis, FMEA, PPAP, AS9102 First Articles and process improvement methodologies
- In depth knowledge of System requirements, system level integration, Assembly and test plans for components as well as system
- Demonstrated competency with GD&T Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- 7+ years of experience in Quality or Supplier Quality
- Ability to gain additional knowledge via professional training in the following areas:
- Become lead trainer for internal employees (Lean manufacturing, 6S/ISO auditing skills and military standards for inspection)
- Proficiency with CAD and PDM softwares (Solidworks preferred)
