Overview
Senior Software Engineer – Backend Engineer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Python, and Go Lang to build and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS services, microservices architecture, and modern backend development practices. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing backend applications, ensuring seamless integration with cloud infrastructure and APIs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Java (Spring Boot), Python, and Go Lang.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and Graph
QL services. - Build and manage AWS Lambda functions, ECS, SQS/SNS, and S3 for scalable cloud solutions.
- Implement and maintain state machines using AWS Step Functions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot applications using AWS Cloud Watch.
- Design and maintain Dynamo
DB schemas for efficient data storage. - Work with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing.
- Develop and manage Cloud Formation templates for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Ensure high availability, security, and scalability of backend applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-quality software solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), Python, and Go Lang.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, SQS/SNS, S3, and Step Functions.
- Hands-on experience with AWS App Sync.
- Expertise in designing and managing Dynamo
DB databases. - Experience in developing and integrating REST APIs and Graph
QL. - Proficiency in AWS Cloud Watch for monitoring and debugging applications.
- Experience in CI/CD implementation for automated deployments.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Formation templates for infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including unit testing and performance optimization.
- Ability to work in an agile development environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and serverless computing.
- Knowledge of authentication and security best practices.
Candidates local to Hoboken, NJ are highly preferred.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the laws of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $140,000 - $160,000
