Established for over 50 years, we specialise in commercial catering, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation. We support a wide range of customers with reactive call-outs and planned maintenance, tailoring our service to each client’s needs.

We’re now looking to recruit a Trainee Air Conditioning Improver to join our service team, ideal for someone who has just passed FGAS or has experience as a duct fitter / duct cleaner and is looking to progress into air conditioning engineering.

The Role

Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll support service, maintenance, and installation works across contracts including:
 
Hotels
Restaurants
Care Homes
Health Centres  This is a field-based, customer-facing role with full training and development provided.

Key Responsibilities (Training Supported)
 
Assisting with servicing, maintenance and repairs on:  
Split Systems
VRV / VRF systems
AHUs (Air Handling Units)
(Exposure to chillers as you progress)  
Supporting planned maintenance visits (filters, belt checks, coil cleaning, basic fault finding)
Learning to troubleshoot and diagnose AC system issues under supervision
Completing job sheets and updates via smartphone system
Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and company procedures
Supporting reactive call-outs (introduced gradually as confidence grows)  Essential Qualifications / Requirements
 
FGAS certificate (recently passed welcome) OR relevant site experience (e.g., duct fitting / duct cleaning) with strong interest in progressing into AC
Full UK driving licence
Good attitude, willingness to learn, and professionalism with customers  Desirable (Not Essential)
 
NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning
Basic electrical awareness
Previous experience on commercial sites (hotels/restaurants/care)  Progression & Development
 
Hands-on mentoring with senior engineers
Training plan to build competence in service, fault finding, and maintenance
