Assistant Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services. This temporary position prepares talent for a stylist role, delivering quality professional services with emphasis on the guest’s total look. First 3 months are mentored by an Elite or Master Stylist. After months 4‑6, the Assistant Stylist continues to assist and begin servicing guests independently.

• Deliver exceptional guest service and support store goals for sales, loyalty and shrink.
• Support mentor Stylist in meeting sales and productivity goals by adding‐on recommendations, shampoo & treatment process, blowouts, style, global & retouch color, foils, sanitation, pre‑booking, retail recommendations.
• After month three perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup, ear piercing (where applicable).
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales.
• Support execution of in‑store events, promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends and product benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and retail & service recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑in guests, with timely efficiency under mentorship.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team for total‑store experience.
• Establish professional peer relationships that foster exceptional guest service.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and app.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Follow established service protocols for consistent guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license

• Basic understanding of latest salon techniques for haircutting, color, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, ear piercing (where applicable).
• Basic understanding of equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Basic understanding to recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching and twisting.
• Continuous lifting up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to stand long periods.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
• Frequent use of computer, telephonic devices and related supplies.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.80 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location and business and organizational needs.
