Field Technician
Location:
Hoffman Estates, IL. Pay: $16 per hour.
Hours:
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday‑Friday during the summer (May 1 – Sept 30). Applicants must be able to work at least 7 consecutive weeks.
Field technicians perform active surveillance for mosquito larvae, treat water sites and storm drains as required, read maps, and drive company vehicles throughout the district. No prior experience is necessary; on‑the‑job training is provided.
Requirements- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Have good communication skills
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must pass a Department of Agriculture exam pertaining to pesticides (study materials provided)
- Able to lift, bend, twist, and walk while carrying weight exceeding 50 lb
- Able to walk long distances over uneven terrain for periods exceeding 2 hours
- Paid holidays
- End‑of‑season bonuses (up to three possibilities)
