Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.

Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders, and adhere to company policies.

Follow guidelines on cash shortages/overages and restricted sale items.

Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.

Stay current with advertising and adhere to food safety regulations.

Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.

Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.

Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

Customer service experience
Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
