Primary Function: The truck Mechanic is responsible for inspecting equipment and planning repairs for service required. You will be working on heavy trucks – both in the shop and on-site. You are also responsible for checking manuals, schematics, and diagrams for repairs, when necessary.

Job Duties:

• Perform technical repairs and service on Heavy Duty Trucks
• Assist with the diagnosis and completion of maintenance/repairs of fleet vehicles and equipment, equipment failure, machine maintenance, and damage resolution
• Ensure timely completion of repairs with limited supervision
• Uses all common and precision checking equipment and portable power tools
• Hydraulic equipment
• Provide accurate diagnosis of maintenance issues and perform needed repairs
• Understand and apply company safety practices including DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations
• Respond to road and service calls for when trucks breakdown on the road/job
• Change oil and service heavy trucks as needed
• Handle special assignment and other duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience with construction equipment
• Must have a valid Class A CDL and medical card
• Must provide own tools
• A technical associate’s degree or a Program Certificate is preferred
• Must have experience as a field and shop mechanic
• Previous diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
• Basic knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite;
  Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions, confined spaces, elevated heights, with frequent stooping, lifting, kneeling, bending, crouching, ability to lift 50lbs, and climbing.
