Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, program, perform system start-up/check-out, testing/commissioning, customer training and all associated documentation on assigned projects including more complex projects. What You'll Do- Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment including security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation.
- Interpret architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics to determine scope and building features.
- Use standard test instruments and hand tools to repair equipment, apply knowledge of electronics, and utilize wiring diagrams.
- Stay current with building, mechanical, sprinkler and fire codes.
- Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions, and write routine programs for systems.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Assist in project risk identification, communication, and the development of strategies to minimize impact on cost and schedule.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Operations Manager on coordination and quality of specific projects.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to learn technical skills related to fire alarm systems and electronic security systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Expert-level programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Edwards fire alarm systems or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems and local/state low voltage electrical license required.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.
- Work independently and as part of a team, self-directed with minimal supervision.

- High School G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
- Local/State Electrical License.
- NICET Level II – Fire Alarm Systems.
- Associate degree in Electronics or related field, including equivalent military experience.
- Six or more years of relevant field service.
- EST4 certification.
