PurposeThe Warehouse department plays an integral role in the success of broader roles for the organization’s supply chain and logistics operations.
ScopeThe Warehouse department maintains efficient inventory management, timely order fulfillment, overall customer satisfaction and commitment to safety and quality through the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in close partnership with the Logistics department.
Team/RolesOur Warehouse department is made up of the following roles:
Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Lead – Maintenance, Warehouse Lead – Project, Warehouse Associates
- Inspection and Verification:
Checks received goods for quantity, quality, and any damage or discrepancies against purchase orders or shipping documents. - Documentation:
Completes receiving reports, updates inventory records, and communicates any issues to relevant departments. - Organization:
Arranges goods within the warehouse based on storage requirements, accessibility, and inventory management principles (e.g., FIFO, LIFO). - Inventory Control:
Conducts regular inventory counts, reconciles discrepancies, and maintains accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS). - Space Optimization:
Maximizes warehouse space utilization through efficient layout planning and storage solutions. - Order Fulfillment:
Retrieves items from inventory based on customer orders or internal requisitions.
