Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee and manage accounting operations with precision and compliance in Holden, MA. This position plays a crucial role in preparing financial reports, analyzing data, and ensuring adherence to established accounting principles. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accurate reporting.

- Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.

- Reconcile accounts and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.

- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.

- Provide support for internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.

- Manage month-end close activities, ensuring all journal entries are completed and properly recorded.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial processes and reporting.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Strong proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.

- Expertise in account reconciliation and bank reconciliation procedures.

- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial compliance standards.

- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.

- Experience supporting audit processes with accurate documentation.

- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
