Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field;
    Master’s preferred. Subject matter expertise.
  • Certification: Valid Massachusetts Teaching License for the applicable grade level and subject area with SEI endorsement.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to design and deliver rigorous, standards‑based instruction and differentiate to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including multilingual learners, students with disabilities, and advanced learners. Skillful use of student data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and support social, emotional, and academic growth within a collaborative, multi‑tiered system of supports.
Job Responsibilities
  • Instruction: Plan, organize, and deliver high‑quality, Massachusetts‑standard aligned lessons through culturally and linguistically sustaining practices using district‑approved materials. Adapt lessons for diverse needs and learning styles. Develop and implement content and language objectives for every lesson.
  • Student Support: Participate in MTSS framework, monitor progress, identify challenges, provide interventions. Available beyond regular hours for additional student help.
  • Assessment: Monitor performance via formative and summative assessments, assignments, observations, and other tools. Provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a safe, inclusive, respectful environment that fosters engagement and academic/behavioral success.
  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues, administrators, and support staff in Professional Learning Communities to improve instruction. Participate in committees, PD, faculty meetings. Co‑plan with ESL/ELD specialists for multilingual learners.
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about progress and concerns. Use translation/interpretation services to ensure equitable access.
  • Professional Learning: Pursue and implement PD strategies, integrate emerging technologies, align with district and state educational vision and policy.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in a classroom setting and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Occasional lifting of instructional materials and moving throughout the building.
Additional Requirements
  • Successful completion of background checks required by Massachusetts state law and school committee policies.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
