As a Production Operator at Avient, you ll set up and operate equipment to blend, mix, or transport chemicals that make up our customer products, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency. You ll also be responsible for machine maintenance, quality control, data recording, and supporting the company s vision and principles while adhering to safety and regulatory rules.

• Sets up, starts and runs all machinery
• Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specifications and inserts into machinery, or ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area
• Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues
• Operates machinery to mix, extrude/discharge or handle materials
• May take samples of materials to lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed
• Performs all required machine cleaning
• Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures

• High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent training & experience
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
• Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide; ability to use conversions and work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance

• Requires standing and sitting for extended periods, talking and listening
• Makes walking and use of hands necessary; occasionally bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
• May be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with loud noise
• Ability to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly
• Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection
• Exposure to outside weather conditions; may be exposed to extreme heat and humidity
• May be exposed to dust or fumes
