Own and support end-to-end manufacturing operations and supply chain execution, ensuring high-quality, scalable production of hardware systems that power autonomous buildings and new physical AI markets.

About Passive Logic®

Passive Logic is the first fully autonomous platform for buildings. We’ve reinvented the fundamental principles of automation to democratize technology, optimize buildings, and reduce the world’s carbon footprint. We are a team of technologists, engineers, and creatives dedicated to making a sustainable impact through real-world solutions.

We are looking for team members who have a passion for technology and want to work on cutting‑edge problems with real‑world solutions. Our culture is built on bringing the most talented engineers, thinkers, and creatives—backed by the world’s leading investors—together to make the future a reality.

About the Role

This is a career-defining opportunity to play a critical leadership role at a hyper‑scale AI company transforming autonomous systems, energy, and the built environment.

As our Manufacturing Operations Engineer, you will support end‑to‑end hardware production and supply chain activities. Reporting directly to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, this role combines hands‑on manufacturing support, quality inspections, procurement assistance, and logistics management to ensure smooth scaling of PCBA and mechanical products with our contract manufacturers.

What You’ll Do
  • Review and analyze quotes from contract manufacturers and suppliers; identify cost drivers, technical mismatches, and opportunities for optimization in collaboration with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) on mechanical and PCBA components (T0/T1/T2 samples), conduct QC checks, document findings, and support tooling approval to achieve golden samples.
  • Assist in sourcing and procuring hard‑to‑find components; track lead times, manage allocations, and coordinate shipment of parts to CMs.
  • Develop and maintain assembly instructions, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Support inventory management, demand forecasting, and ERP/MRP system tracking.
  • Build and optimize QC processes, inspection protocols, and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Manage logistics, freight forwarders, import/export compliance, tariffs/duties, and shipping documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operations processes and support cross‑functional NPI efforts.
What You’ll Bring

If your experience does not meet all our posted requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you. We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about understanding people, committed to lifelong learning, and driven by the love of what they do. If that’s you, please apply!

You must have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in hardware/electronics manufacturing and operations (PCBA and mechanical assembly).
  • Solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes (SMT, injection molding, tooling, FAI).
  • Experience with quote analysis, component procurement, inventory systems, and international logistics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP tools, and basic data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers and contract manufacturers.
You should have
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfort working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exposure to international operations
It’s helpful to have
  • Experience in a startup

We know there are candidates who might not fit everything we’ve described above, or who might have experience and skills we haven’t considered. Passive Logic can sometimes be flexible enough to shift responsibilities to the right person, or otherwise identify open or upcoming roles that may better fit your professional background. Even if you don’t meet all the requirements above, we still want to hear from you.
