Part-Time Senior Accountant – Holland, MI

Flexible schedule (standard hours 9a–5p)

This part-time Senior Accountant will oversee accounting operations across multiple entities, review staff work, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You’ll support a mission-driven organization serving needs in the community while providing guidance to the accounting team. The parent organization oversees multiple affiliated entities, with a management company handling housing operations. The team values flexibility, collaboration, and work-life balance, and the dress code is casual—jeans are fine!

• Review accounting work of staff, including journal entries, AP, financial statements, and bank reconciliations
• Guide and support staff with questions related to accounting tasks
• Verify deadlines are being met and tasks are assigned correctly

• Review coding of invoices and AP entries
• Ensure new vendors are entered correctly in the accounting system

• Review journal entries and bank transactions prior to entry
• Review financial statements and prepare narrative for board meetings
• Review account reconciliations and bank reconciliations as needed
• Facilitate 1099 preparation using Adams Tax Helper

• Review monthly journal entries after staff preparation
• Review financial statements and bank reconciliations as needed
• Assist with audit preparation, including reviewing account reconciliations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Several years of full-cycle accounting experience, including AP, financial statements, and reconciliations (required)
• Experience with nonprofits or multi-entity organizations, Quick Books, and leadership skills (preferred)
