The Accounting Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, fixed assets, accounts payable, month-end close, audits, taxes and internal controls for an acute care hospital system. This role ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), healthcare regulatory requirements, and organizational financial policies. The position serves as a key business partner to the AVP of Finance, operational leaders, and executive team by providing accurate financial information, analysis, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and financial performance improvement.

- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years in healthcare finance or hospital accounting.
- Experience managing financial close, audits, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
- Previous leadership experience managing accounting teams.
- Prior hospital, health system, or healthcare provider experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or Healthcare Administration.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or HFMA certification considered a plus.
- CPA designation.
- Experience in a not-for-profit healthcare organization.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
- Experience supporting bond audits and debt financing.
- Familiarity with physician practices, ambulatory services, and healthcare joint ventures.
- Experience with financial transformation, system implementations, or process improvement initiatives.

Financial Accounting & Reporting Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes; including account reconciliation oversight.
Provide oversight over general accounting, fixed assets, other assets and liabilities, accounts payable, intercompany accounting, and equity investments.
Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
