Position Title
Hope College TRIO Upward Bound Office Assistant (Part-Time)
ClassificationHourly Part Time (.1-.74 FTE)
Work ScheduleAcademic Year (August–April): ~20 hours/week, Tuesdays & Thursdays: 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Additional hours scheduled with the Director.
Summer Session (May–July): ~20 hours/week, typically Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Job OverviewThe TRIO Upward Bound program is funded by a grant from the Department of Education and serves local first‑generation and low‑income high school students who are committed to pursuing higher education after graduating high school.
The Office Assistant provides administrative and operational support to ensure smooth daily program functions, supporting communication, student records, and logistics while serving as a key point of contact for the program.
Administrative & Office Support- Serve as the first point of contact (phones, emails, inquiries)
- Provide information and referrals
- Assist with printing, copying, and supply orders
- Schedule transportation and rooms
- Data Entry
- Distribute academic updates to staff
- Maintain and organize student files
- Track technology inventory (laptops, iPads, calculators)
- Support daily program operations
- Assist with logistics as needed
- Support social media and communication efforts
- Assist with outreach materials
- High school diploma required; college experience preferred
- Bilingual (preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Zoom, Canva
- Strong organizational and communication skills
This position requires remaining in a sitting or standing position for frequent periods of time; use of office machinery such as computers, printers, copy machines; occasionally moving items over 10 pounds; frequently moving between different offices/work spaces/buildings; and requires effective communication abilities.
