Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI.

As a Senior Global Trade Compliance Specialist you will:

Act as Haworth's lead subject matter expert for global trade compliance, partnering with internal teams and international affiliates to ensure compliance with global trade regulations and support business objectives. Drive continuous improvement through research, stakeholder collaboration, data analysis, and the implementation of innovative solutions related to customs compliance, trade programs, and emerging technologies.

Essential Functions
  • Act as Haworth's primary resource for global trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade requirements.
  • Independently research and interpret U.S. and international trade regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Manage trade compliance programs, including tariff classification, free trade agreements, customs documentation, CTPAT administration and membership management, cargo flow mapping, and related compliance activities.
  • Serve as Haworth's primary point of contact and program owner for CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), maintaining membership requirements, coordinating validations and assessments, and ensuring ongoing compliance with program standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with international affiliates and cross-functional teams to support global business operations and compliance objectives.
  • Lead compliance-related projects and process improvements, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments, driving corrective actions when needed.
  • Develop and facilitate trade compliance training and educational programs for internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments, emerging trade requirements, and industry best practices, translating changes into actionable business guidance.
  • Leverage data analytics and emerging technologies to improve research, reporting, compliance monitoring, and operational performance.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field,
  • 5+ years of experience in global trade compliance, international trade, customs compliance, import/export operations, or a related
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
  • Education Equivalency:
    Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • Military Equivalency extmove.org/vets/find/military
Preferred Qualifications
  • U.S. Customs Broker License (CBL) strongly preferred; equivalent international trade or customs certifications considered.
  • Experience supporting global trade compliance programs in Europe and/or Asia.
  • Experience with CTPAT, cargo flow mapping, and forced labor/UFLPA compliance.
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint skills.
