- Develop accurate shop drawings, production drawings, field drawings, and coordination drawings for custom projects.
- Interpret architectural, structural, and construction documents to ensure design intent is accurately reflected.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and communicate effectively with internal production teams and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed project drawings that align with customer requirements, project specifications, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project scope.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to improve drawing standards, workflows, and documentation processes.
- Perform project takeoffs and material quantity calculations as required.
- Participate in onsite field measurements and inspections when necessary.
- Support conceptual product development and design improvements.
- Maintain organized project documentation and prepare meeting notes or coordination documents as needed.
- Serve as a key technical liaison between internal teams and customers throughout project execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in construction design, drafting, detailing, or a related technical role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and preparation of detailed construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, construction documents, and design intent.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel periodically throughout Michigan for field visits and project support.
- Experience with Revit.
- Familiarity with civil and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of exterior architectural building products, façade systems, or rainscreen assemblies.
- Experience coordinating with contractors and construction trades.
- Strong 3D visualization skills with the ability to accurately represent complex geometry in 2D drawings.
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, terminology, and documentation.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and time management abilities.
- Critical thinker with strong decision-making skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to quality and follow-through.
- High level of professionalism, dependability, and accountability.
