Teacher Assistant- SPS
Job Summary:
Sheldon Pines School is seeking a compassionate and dependable Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities in a special education setting. The Teacher Assistant works under the direction of a certified teacher and building administration to assist with instructional activities, behavior support, and daily student needs in order to promote academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and instructional plans
- Assist individual students or small groups with academic, functional, and social skills
- Provide behavior support using positive behavior intervention strategies
- Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility as required
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based instruction
- Assist with data collection and documentation related to student progress and behavior
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Support students during transportation, including riding the bus if required
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Follow district policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a special education or behavioral support setting preferred

Starting at $21.14 per hour - Schedule:
