Job Responsibilities:
- Support student 1:1 or in small group support during academic instruction
- Help implement IEP goals (academic, behavioral, communication, social)
- Support students with task initiation, completion, and transitions
- Support the use of AAC devices, visuals, PECS, or communication systems
- Assist with arrival, dismissal, and daily transitions
- Support students with independence in routines (lining up, cleaning up, following schedules)
- Prepare and organize materials (visual schedules, task bins, sensory tools)
- Assist with toileting, hygiene, feeding, and dressing as needed
- Supervise and support students during recess, lunch, and specials
- Follow district and building policies and procedures
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and consistency
- Participate in team meetings and trainings when appropriate
- CPI trained or willing to be trained in CPI
- Able to be flexible and adjust quickly to the needs of the day
- Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred.
- Willing to work in cold weather
- Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. - Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. - Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. - Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. - Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. - Repetitive motions:
Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. - The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
- The worker should provide consistent and reliable in-person attendance.
