Overview

Preschool IA supports instruction and development in the classroom.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support Children in Daily Routines and Instructional Activities
    • Assist the lead classroom teacher with setting up and maintaining a structured daily schedule.
    • Help manage classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions between activities and routines.
    • Provide support during meal times, rest times, and other daily routines to maintain order and consistency.
  • Work Collaboratively Under the Direction of the Lead Classroom Teacher
    • Follow the lead teacher's guidance to implement a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and lessons.
    • Participate actively in planning sessions, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the curriculum.
    • Assist in preparing materials and resources needed for lessons and activities.
  • Collect Student Data as Needed
    • Observe and document children's behavior, progress, and development according to established guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate records of student assessments and observations.
    • Share collected data with the lead teacher to inform instructional decisions and individualized planning.
  • Communicate Effectively with Young Children and Other Adults
    • Engage with children in a positive and nurturing manner, fostering a supportive learning environment.
    • Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with staff members to address any classroom issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Willingness to Learn Best Practices in Preschool Settings
    • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in early childhood education.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Apply new strategies and techniques learned to improve classroom instruction and student outcomes.
  • Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Preschool-Aged Children
    • Demonstrated experience in an early childhood education setting, working directly with preschool-aged children.
    • Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices and techniques for young learners.
  • CDA Credential Preferred or Willingness to Obtain
    • Possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is preferred.
    • Willingness to pursue and obtain a CDA credential if not already held.
  • Ability to Pass a Child Care Background Check
    • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and review of any criminal records.
    • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for all children in the classroom.
  • Physical Demands

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, read printed materials and a computer screen, and communicate in person or over the telephone.
