Qualifications:
* Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
* Special Education endorsement.
* Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
* Experience providing instruction in inclusive or co-teaching settings.
* Knowledge of evidence-based literacy and mathematics interventions.
* Experience using progress monitoring tools and educational technology.
* Experience collaborating within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide specially designed instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
* Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA, MARSE, and district procedures.
* Serve as case manager for assigned students, including facilitating IEP meetings and maintaining required documentation.
* Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional strategies. Support students in inclusive classroom settings through consultation, co-teaching, and direct instruction.
* Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform instructional decisions. Conduct progress monitoring and communicate student growth with families and educational teams.
* Work collaboratively with school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, social workers, behavior specialists, and administrators.
* Implement positive behavior supports and contribute to Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) when appropriate.
* Foster strong relationships with students and families while maintaining high expectations for learning and independence. Participate in professional learning communities, district initiatives, and ongoing professional development.

* Lifting:
Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
* Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
* Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
* Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
* Repetitive motions:
Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
* The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance.
