Qualifications:

* Valid secondary State of MI teacher certificate with an ESL (NS) endorsement or bilingual Spanish (YF) endorsement.

* Additional Elementary (ZG) endorsement required.

Job Responsibilities:

* Provide direct English Language Development (ELD) instruction to ELs in grades YK-5 in both designated ELD settings (pull-out, separate ESL classes) and integrated ELD settings (push-in, co-taught support).

* Collaborate with elementary content area teachers to support English Learners (ELs) within core classes.

* Utilize the WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 to incorporate English Language Development standards.

* Contribute to grade level data review meetings and Professional Learning Communities.

* Support meaningful student and family engagement opportunities for multilingual learners.

* Build upon the cultural and linguistic assets of ELs to support equitable educational opportunities.

* Implement effective instructional routines based on current research, The SIOP Model, and the WIDA Standards Framework.

* Collect, analyze, and communicate relevant data for ELs & Former ELs (FELs).

* Leverage instructional technology to support making content comprehensible and developing academic language for ELs.

* Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to support newcomer ELs and their families.

* Administer EL assessments (including WIDA Screener & WIDA Access) and communicate results & implications.

* Contribute to the growth and development of the EL Program.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Repetitive motions:
Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

* The worker is subject to environmental conditions.

* The worker should provide consistent and reliable in-person attendance.
