Careerline Tech Center, located in Holland, Michigan, is seeking a versatile Environmental Field Studies Instructor. This position begins as a part‑time role for the 2026‑27 school year, with the strategic goal of growing the program back to full‑time status by the 2027‑28 school year.

We are looking for an educator who can deliver high‑quality instruction in Environmental Field Studies while also helping pivot the program toward one of two high‑interest pathways:
Environmental Natural Resources or Veterinary Sciences, depending on the instructor’s expertise and student demand. Additional hours, above and beyond the contractual number, may be available for support with the design of curriculum and/or other duties.

• Instructional Delivery: Teach "Environmental Field Studies" to high school juniors and seniors, balancing classroom theory with significant practical, hands‑on field experiences.
• Program Evolution: Collaborate with administration to transition the current curriculum toward either a Veterinary Science or Environmental Natural Resources CIP code.
• Curriculum Development: Refine and align the curriculum to Michigan’s CTE competencies and industry expectations for the chosen future pathway.
• Partnership Building: Establish and maintain relationships with local veterinary clinics, the Michigan DNR, county parks, and community partners to create internship and job placement opportunities.
• Lab & Equipment Management: Manage the program budget and maintain all necessary tools and equipment (whether lab‑based or field‑based) in compliance with safety standards.
• Student Support: Guide students in developing professional "soft skills," ethical practices, and post‑secondary transitions into college or the workforce.
• Compliance: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Support Work‑Based Learning: Collaborate with local companies/entities to arrange internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeships. Maintain an active Program Advisory Committee to ensure program relevancy.
• Create and Nurture Partnerships: Work collaboratively with staff, industry partners, and post‑secondary institutions to provide students with opportunities for career and college advancement.
• Engage in Professional Development: Participate in continuous professional growth to maintain instructional permits and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a CTE endorsement in 1.0000 Agriculture, Agricultural Operations and Related Sciences OR
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a CTE endorsement in one of the following: 01.0301 Agriculture Production, General, 02.9999 Agriculture Science and Natural Resources OR
• 4,000 hours of recent and relevant industry experience within the past 6 years, which can be documented and verified.
• Experience working with high school students in classroom and field settings is preferred.

• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
