Support Service Paraprofessional - 20 hours week

ESS Paraprofessional - Pine Ridge Elementary

The Resource paraprofessional provides assistance to the teacher and students. Under the direction of the teacher, the assistant will provide individual and group re-teaching in core subject areas, assessment and progress monitoring.

Assist in the educational and academic development of students under the direction of the Resource ESS teacher.

Assist in implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), Personalized Education Plans (PEP) and/or Behavioral Intervention Plans for students and monitor their progress.

Provide support for students outside the classroom in core academic intervention areas.

Prepare all daily intervention lessons specific to student need.

Progress monitor all students and report back to the ESS teacher.

Work collaboratively with the general education teacher and resource ESS teacher to problem solve student academic issues.

Provide Crisis Prevention Instruction (CPI) supports as necessary.

Uphold the mission and values of Holland Christian Schools. Hold a deep and genuine love for God and all children.

Be at least 18 years of age.

Hold a high school diploma.

Knowledge of secondary level mathematics content.

Have 3-5 years of experience as a resource paraprofessional or higher and have knowledge of current best practice interventions.

Be capable of physically assisting students with special needs as required (positioning, lifting, transferring, utilizing CPI techniques.)

Have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Position is located at our Rose Park Elementary School and is approximately 40 hours a week.
