The Department of Psychology at Hope College seeks applicants for an open-rank, tenure-track professor position beginning by Fall 2027. Primary teaching responsibilities would be in the area of cognitive psychology. Additional teaching responsibilities could include Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Neuroscience, Research Methods courses, seminar courses within one's area of psychology, or a course integrating diversity and equity issues. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester, typically with two preparations per semester.
A research program involving undergraduates is an important component of this position. We welcome innovative teacher-scholars who will integrate research with teaching. We especially seek applicants who have demonstrated experience effectively working with ethnically and other underrepresented students.
Hope's Psychology Department is a collegial faculty community and a national leader in faculty-student collaborative research located in a beautiful midwestern community. We seek candidates with a research program that will engage undergraduates. Start-up funds for research are available, and Hope College offers opportunities for internal research support and assistance in seeking external funding. The Psychology Department at Hope College has 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty and graduates about 90 majors per year.
The Psychology Department also contributes to Hope College's neuroscience, global health, American ethnic studies, peace and justice, and women's and gender studies programs.

Applicants ideally will have a completed PhD in psychology or a related field by August 2027.
