Cell Analysis Engineer

Overview

Title: Engineer I, Quality (Defect Analysis)

Reports to: Manager, DA

• Organize and streamline processes/procedures
• Derive the root cause through on-site verification, investigation, and ignition analysis of safety issues
• Conduct a reproducibility experiment to verify the probable cause of a field issue
• Cell/Module/Pack tear-down analysis and reporting
• Analyze structural and design safety risks of automobile & battery (Pack to Cell) system
• Analyze Risk and cause through buyback and issue adjacent cell analysis
• Analyze the cause of battery failure through precision analysis equipment
• Create instruction and diagnostic manuals
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
• Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
• Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a solid understanding of cell and electrochemical fundamentals
• Experience in a Quality Engineering role or Reproducible experiment work in an automotive manufacturing environment including internship or co-op’s experience

• 1 to 3+ years of experience, including internship or co-op experience, in a Quality Engineering role or Reproducible experiment work in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Fire related failure parts analysis experience including EV/PHEV vehicle diagnosis (GST)

• Strong attention to detail
• Technically proficient and motivated to continuously improve
• MS Office Suite
• Ability to work flexible hours occasionally to support related team
• Ability to wear a respirator while working
• Prefer to CFEI
• Electric & Electronics related knowledge in vehicle

• Able to work while wearing respirator
