The Mechanical Engineer I is a role responsible for supporting engineering projects by applying fundamental principles, standard procedures, and basic technical skills. This position involves performing routine technical tasks with guidance, using prescribed methods and CAD tools, while developing an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. The role emphasizes skill-building, teamwork, and effective communication, as the engineer collaborates with peers, staff, contractors, and the public to contribute to project success.

Candidates typically have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field), 1-3 years of experience, and primarily academic knowledge of engineering practices, along with a willingness to learn and grow within a professional environment.

• Acquire limited knowledge and develop basic skills
• Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks
• Perform routine technical work which does not require previous experience
• Acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
  
  May review the technical output of ME1 or MD1 team members as directed
• Influence peers through team interactions
• Contribute to success of group projects
• Possess basic oral and written communication skills
• Interact with staff, general public, and contractors
• Assist with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings

Note:

• 1-3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Creo, NX, AutoCAD)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
• Associate's degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)
• Has a primarily academic knowledge of a subset of the engineering discipline principles, practices, and procedures.

JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
