ESSENTIAL
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides technical support to set‑up personnel, manufacturing, and engineering in all phases of manufacturing.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities to improve OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) metrics through downtime reduction, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and improved efficiency.
- Troubleshoots, identifies, implements, and maintains controls systems, including PLC, Vision, Robotics, and Servo.
- Conducts manufacturing process verification via manual records or through implementation of automated controls.
- Develops work standards for current tools, machines, and equipment in designated area and maintains accurate records.
- Provides training and work direction to other staff. Performs other duties as necessary.
- Acts as a first‑line responder to independently investigate, find root cause and implement immediate and long‑term corrective action for out‑of‑tolerance process variance and equipment downtime.
- Communicates with process engineering and support personnel to ensure robust process and solutions.
- Assists in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions and standards. Understands Magna Mirrors Holland’s quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.
- B.S. Degree in Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3 years’ experience troubleshooting PLCs, Vision Systems, Robotics, and/or Servo Systems. Experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, Denso, Cognex, Keyence, GVI, Yaskawa, Bekhoff, and Wago is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to establish communication with all controls systems in area of responsibility for troubleshooting and programming purposes.
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to work with internal and external contacts and to lead, train, and support other staff in a team environment.
- Strong project management and problem‑solving skills to work on projects independently under minimal work direction.
